Fourblue are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic energy-focused commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale energy framework, supporting project delivery, cost control, and maximising profitability across a diverse portfolio. The position is ideal for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress their career, or an established Quantity Surveyor seeking long-term stability and development.
Role Purpose:
As part of the commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor will support contract delivery by monitoring costs, managing subcontractor cycles, producing forecasts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role contributes directly to the successful and profitable delivery of projects while maintaining compliance with commercial policies and industry standards.
Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Support the commercial team in cost control, cash management, and reporting across projects
- Assist in the application, forecasting, and credit control processes
- Understand and manage project variations, change control systems, and risk assessments
- Produce accurate CVRs, CTCs, and financial forecasting data
- Manage the full subcontract cycle, including documentation and coordination with delivery teams
- Review weekly site records, allocation sheets, and site diaries
- Attend project progress meetings and provide commercial input
- Contribute to monthly financial performance reports
- Collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement, lean processes, and efficient project delivery
- Promote integration, best practice, and collaborative planning with contract delivery teams
- Commit to personal professional development and support the growth of colleagues within the business unit
Criteria of the Quantity Surveyor: - Previous experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role, ideally within energy, construction, or utilities sectors
- Strong understanding of project cost control, forecasting, and change management processes
- Competent in subcontract management and production of commercial documentation
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to review site records
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and influence positive outcomes
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
