Control Engineer - Europe
Are you an experienced Control Engineer looking for a role where safety, technical excellence and leadership are at the forefront? This opportunity offers the chance to work across major project sites in Europe, ensuring the safe coordination and operation of critical electrical systems within a dynamic engineering environment.
In this position, you will take central responsibility for the control and oversight of electrical networks, managing system states, authorising switching activities and ensuring full compliance with safety procedures. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining operational integrity, supporting field teams and coordinating with key stakeholders to keep projects running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain central oversight of electrical system status across multiple project sites.
- Authorise switching, energisation and the release of equipment for work.
- Record plant and apparatus release/restoration, ensuring full traceability.
- Coordinate with SAPs regarding Safety Documents and isolation confirmation.
- Review risk assessments and approve live working justifications.
- Respond to on-site emergencies, directing appropriate safety actions.
- Enforce strict procedural compliance and maintain operational boundaries.
- Act as the central point for inter-company electrical safety coordination.
- Keep accurate operational logs and SCADA records where required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to SAPs, APs and Testing Engineers.
Requirements: - Recognised electrical engineering qualifications.
- Strong experience with HV/LV systems and operational practices.
- Eligible for nomination as a Control Engineer by the Authorising Engineer.
- Solid understanding of legal and procedural safety requirements.
- Proven experience in safety management, coordination and decision-making.
