Practice Excellence Manager – Assessment & Rating Strategy
Location: Paddington, QLD
Work Type: Full Time
Lead System-Wide Quality. Deliver Measurable Impact.
This is not a traditional quality role.
We are seeking a sharp, results-driven leader to take ownership of Assessment & Rating (A&R) performance across a network of 138 early education and care services. This role sits at the centre of our quality strategy—responsible for driving measurable uplift, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring consistent, high standards across a large and diverse portfolio.
If you bring proven experience managing multiple services and a track record of improving A&R outcomes—from Working Towards to Meeting, and from Meeting to Exceeding—this is an opportunity to operate at scale and make a lasting impact.
The Role
As Practice Excellence Manager, you will lead and coordinate A&R readiness and performance across all services. You will work closely with operational leaders to ensure every service is not only compliant but confidently positioned to achieve and sustain higher ratings.
This is a strategic and hands-on role requiring strong judgement, pace, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- A&R Strategy & Delivery
Lead a clear, system-wide approach to Assessment & Rating across 138 services, ensuring readiness, consistency, and strong outcomes. - Portfolio Performance Management
Lead service performance across CEEC portfolios with a strong focus on Assessment & Rating outcomes; proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities, and implement targeted, evidence-informed strategies that drive measurable uplift in quality ratings. - Quality Uplift
Drive progression of services from Working Towards to Meeting, and build a strong pipeline of services advancing to Exceeding. - Leadership Enablement
Strengthen the capability of Service Leaders through coaching, clear expectations, and practical support that translates into improved practice. - Data & Insights
Use data to track performance, inform decisions, and maintain a clear view of progress across the network. - Standards & Consistency
Ensure alignment with the National Quality Framework, embedding consistent practice and expectations across all services.
What Success Looks Like - A&R outcomes improve consistently across the portfolio
- “Working Towards” services transition to “Meeting” within defined timeframes
- An increased number of services progressing toward and achieving “Exceeding”
- Stronger, more confident leadership across services
- Clear visibility of performance, risks, and progress at all times
About You You’re an experienced and driven leader with a passion for quality and a strong track record of lifting Assessment & Rating outcomes across multiple services. You bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in a leadership or management role overseeing multiple early education and/or OSHC services
- Proven success improving Assessment & Rating (A&R) results, with experience supporting services to achieve Meeting and Exceeding NQS
- Strong, practical knowledge of the NQF, NQS and EYLF/MTOP, with the ability to translate standards into high-quality practice and evidence
- Experience managing quality across multiple sites, using data and insights to identify risk, track performance, and drive consistent outcomes
- A sharp operational and commercial mindset, with a focus on sustainable quality and compliance outcomes
- The ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on support to ensure services are A&R-ready and continuously improving
- Confidence in influencing, coaching and holding leaders accountable for quality and performance
- Highly organised and analytical, with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes across a diverse portfolio
