JMS Staffing has partnered with a nationally recognized builder of high-quality homes and components, in search of a Cost Accountant to join their growing team. 

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate cost management, analyzing production efficiency, and supporting leadership with timely financial insights. You'll be responsible for auditing and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs), managing inventory data, and producing detailed reports that influence both day-to-day operations and long-term business decisions.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

• Audit and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for existing house models.
• Develop and create BOMs for new product models.
• Prepare and conduct monthly inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Utilize the ERP system to manage cost data and ensure accuracy.
• Generate financial and operational reports for the Accounting team and General Manager.
• Analyze production costs and inventory valuations to identify variances and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with month-end close and other accounting processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of house manufacturing or related production processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros, a plus).
• .Strong attention to detail and accuracy; thrives under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively.
