Our client, a full-service Civil Engineering and Site Development consulting firm in Tysons, VA, is seeking a Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner to join their growing team!
This is an onsite/full-time/direct-hire position Salary range based on experience: $80k-$100k
The successful candidate will provide technical experience while expanding our client's portfolio. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams while reporting to the Director of Transportation. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning
4-8 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning
Proficiency with software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS
Strong knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design
Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans
Desired Skills and Competencies
Developing client relationship management skills
Experience managing project budgets and schedules
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Technical writing and presentation skills
Problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovative solutions
AICP Certificate or Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct transportation studies and traffic impact analyses
Assist in project team management and provide technical support for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting
Develop intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and geometric designs
Participate in parking demand studies and multimodal transportation assessments
Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies
Attend client meetings and support project presentations
Support junior staff development
Contribute to business development initiatives
