Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Tonawanda, NY, is looking to add a Honing Technician to their team!

This is an onsite/ full-time/ direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: Up to $27/HR

A successful employee in this role will set up and operate equipment to perform necessary honing or lapping on inside and/or outside diameters of various precision parts. You will study blueprints, work orders, and/or machining instructions to determine product dimensions, diameters, and tooling.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Set-up and operate Sunnen hones (manual and automatic) to hone inside diameters on various
sleeves and cylinders.
Set-up and operate air gages and Sunnen bore gages. Use micrometers.
Lap outside diameters of various precision parts to achieve the required size, straightness, roundness, and finish.
Thoroughly clean parts of all honing oil and lapping compound.
Read and understand engineering drawings, honing routers.
Able to communicate effectively with other departments when necessary.
Show a willingness to work through their attendance and maintain an overall positive attitude.
Adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
Performs other functions as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Ability to work independently.
Moderate lifting required.
