An established consultancy firm is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to support the business for a 6‑month period while a permanent hire is recruited. You will be joining at a pivotal time as the finance function continues to evolve and embed its structure.
This is an important and high‑visibility role where you’ll work closely with the Financial Controller, lead two part‑qualified accountants (who are based remotely), and take full responsibility for delivering accurate, timely financial information. It’s an ideal if you enjoy improving processes and can bring clarity and structure to a busy finance environment
Role responsibilities
Lead, support, and develop two direct reports, including reviewing their work and providing ongoing training.
Produce monthly management accounts.
Take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Act as a business partner across multiple entities, delivering regular P&L and Balance Sheet reviews.
Prepare month‑end reporting packs for senior leadership.
Support interim and year‑end audit processes.
Oversee daily banking activities, including reviewing and authorising UK and international payments.
Manage core accounting processes carried out by the team, including workflow approvals, accounts payable, depreciation, prepayments, accruals, and VAT.
Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual tasks.
Drive continuous improvement and challenge existing processes.
Skills & Experience
Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
Strong management accounting experience, ideally with VAT exposure.
Confident systems user with excellent communication skills.
Experience managing or supervising a small team.
A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and the ability to hit the ground running.
A calm, organised approach in a fast‑paced environment.
