MyStaff is partnering with a well-established and financially stable organization seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance accounting professional who enjoys technical research, statutory reporting, problem-solving, and improving financial processes. The role offers a mix of hands-on accounting work, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence reporting accuracy, controls, and overall finance operations. What You’ll Be Doing
Review and analyze statutory financial statements, filings, and supporting schedules
Serve as a technical accounting resource for Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
Support audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance-related reporting
Investigate reconciliations, variances, and complex accounting issues across multiple systems
Improve reporting processes, documentation, and internal controls
Partner with finance leadership, auditors, and operational teams on technical accounting matters
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of insurance accounting experience with strong statutory accounting exposure
Deep understanding of NAIC statutory accounting and insurance reporting requirements
Experience supporting audits, regulators, and complex financial reporting processes
Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly and professionally
