MyStaff is partnering with a well-established and financially stable organization seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance accounting professional who enjoys technical research, statutory reporting, problem-solving, and improving financial processes. The role offers a mix of hands-on accounting work, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence reporting accuracy, controls, and overall finance operations.
What You’ll Be Doing

• Review and analyze statutory financial statements, filings, and supporting schedules
• Serve as a technical accounting resource for Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance-related reporting
• Investigate reconciliations, variances, and complex accounting issues across multiple systems
• Improve reporting processes, documentation, and internal controls
• Partner with finance leadership, auditors, and operational teams on technical accounting matters

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of insurance accounting experience with strong statutory accounting exposure
• Deep understanding of NAIC statutory accounting and insurance reporting requirements
• Experience supporting audits, regulators, and complex financial reporting processes
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly and professionally
