- Perform quality inspections and verify completed assemblies meet engineering specifications.
- Assist with prototype builds, testing, and continuous product improvements.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, and equipment issues.
- Manage shop organization, tooling, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Support installation and field service activities when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Promote continuous improvement, efficiency, and high-quality craftsmanship.
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial equipment, manufacturing, automation, aerospace, or heavy machinery.
- Previous experience leading technicians, shop personnel, or production teams.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with electrical wiring, motors, controls, sensors, and industrial equipment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining quality and production schedules.
Preferred:
- Experience building Aerospace Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Experience with lifting equipment, cranes, hoists, custom machinery, or material handling systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- PLC troubleshooting or controls experience.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys solving mechanical problems, coaching others, and helping build innovative products. They thrive in a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment and are comfortable balancing technical work with shop leadership responsibilities.
Candidates with extensive experience leading custom fabrication or manufacturing operations, particularly within aerospace, heavy industrial equipment, or engineered lifting systems, may be considered above this range.
