Role: Electronics Technician - Mechanical Systems
Location: Lucedale, Mississippi
Job Description:
A growing industrial fabrication and field-service company is seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician with strong mechanical aptitude. This position will support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated welding equipment and related industrial systems.
The position is primarily based in the Lucedale shop. Some field travel will be required during the initial training period so the technician can learn the company's equipment, customer applications, and field-service operations. Once trained, travel will be periodic and based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, wire, install, test, and repair electronic and electromechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control-system problems.
- Diagnose issues involving wiring, relays, switches, sensors, circuit boards, motors, drives, power supplies, and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Use multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, alignment, adjustment, and repair.
- Work with motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, actuators, drive systems, and other mechanical components.
- Support the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of automated welding equipment.
- Build and modify wiring harnesses, cables, connectors, and control enclosures.
- Perform soldering, crimping, termination, and component replacement.
- Conduct functional testing and document inspection and repair results.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment-readiness activities.
- Travel to customer locations to assist with equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Work closely with welders, fabricators, field technicians, supervisors, and customers.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with electronic, electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on shop work.
- Basic ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot circuits.
- Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, and controls.
- Ability to use electrical diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Willingness to learn automated welding and specialized industrial equipment.
- Ability to travel periodically, including overnight travel when required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
- Ability to lift equipment and components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical education or military training in electronics, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical technology, or a related field.
- Experience with industrial automation, welding equipment, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, variable frequency drives, or motor controls.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
- Experience with soldering, cable fabrication, electrical panel assembly, or wiring harnesses.
- Exposure to welding, fabrication, boilers, pressure vessels, piping, or heavy industrial equipment.
- Previous field-service or equipment-commissioning experience.
Training and Career Growth
Hands-on training will be provided in the company's equipment, processes, safety requirements, and customer applications. The technician will initially work alongside experienced team members in both shop and field environments.

Ideal Candidate

Prior automated welding experience is helpful but not required. The company is willing to train someone who brings a solid electronics foundation, strong mechanical ability, dependability, and a genuine desire to learn and grow.
Schedule:
Full-time; primarily shop-based with periodic field travel.
Travel:
Initially required for hands-on training; limited and project-driven afterward.
