Your role in action:
Act as a trusted advisor to both frontline leaders and corporate managers, building strong relationships across varied stakeholder groups
Provide timely, pragmatic support on employee relations matters including performance, conduct, and attendance issues
Coach managers through HR processes to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance across both operational and office-based teams
Identify gaps in capability, and provide actionable steps to close these gaps
Support payroll-related enquiries by interpreting awards, contracts, and entitlements – while working alongside (but not within) the payroll function
Contribute to workforce planning discussions, offering insights that balance business needs with operational realities
Assist with policy interpretation and application, ensuring frontline and support teams are aligned on expectations
Help implement and embed initiatives that enhance culture, communication, and engagement across the business
Keep accurate records and documentation relating to casework and key HR activities
Your toolkit:
Experience supporting a workforce that includes both blue- and white-collar employee groups
Strong ER knowledge and demonstrated ability to manage a range of low- to mid-level employee relations issues
Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to tailor your approach depending on the audience
Solid understanding of awards, entitlements, and employment legislation – particularly in relation to pay queries and contract interpretation
Highly organised and confident managing multiple priorities at once
Able to build trust quickly, even in fast-paced or reactive environments
Comfortable working with ambiguity and bringing clarity to complex or sensitive situations
A collaborative, down-to-earth approach that resonates equally with team leaders on the floor and executives in the boardroom
