He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role  
As an Advanced Support Worker at Access Community Health/Uru Ātea, you'll play a vital role in evaluating, training, and supporting our general support workforce. This position blends community-based and office-based responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to lead, mentor, and enhance the quality of care for our clients. Shift patterns include alternate weekend work.  

Ngā mahi | What you'll be doing 
Community-Based Assessments 

• Evaluate support workers’ care practices (e.g., handwashing, moving and handling). 
• Provide in-field guidance to improve skills and ensure compliance with policies. 

In-Office Leadership 

• Organise and lead workshops to enhance worker competencies. 
• Collaborate with care coordination and clinical teams. 

Advanced Client Care 

• Deliver complex care and specialised tasks (training provided). 

Team Development 

• Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced workers. 

Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | About you 

• Positive, can-do attitude—experience in behaviour management is a plus. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided). 
• Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., Palliative Care, Home-Based Nursing, Support Worker Coordination). 
• Must have a full or restricted New Zealand driver’s licence. 
• Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent), or Level 3 with a plan to complete Level 4. 
• Careerforce Assessor Qualification is a plus. 
• At least 12 months’ proven experience in a Support Worker role
