Floating Commercial Asset Manager / Client Liaison

Spire Recruitment is partnering with a respected commercial property group to appoint a Full-Time Commercial Relief Asset Manager with a strong client liaison and business development focus. This newly created role is ideal for an experienced Commercial Asset or Property Manager who thrives on variety, autonomy and being a key point of stability for clients and the wider team.
About the role:
This is more than a relief role — you’ll act as a floating Commercial Asset Manager, stepping into portfolios during planned and unplanned absences, maintaining service standards and ensuring seamless transitions for clients and tenants. You’ll also be a central client liaison for new business, supporting onboarding, handover and growth initiatives across the commercial portfolio.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Managing commercial properties during staff leave, vacancies and peak workload periods, ensuring continuity of service.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with tenants, clients and stakeholders.
- Acting as a key client liaison, providing consistent communication and service delivery across multiple portfolios.
- Supporting client onboarding – including initial meetings, handover, information gathering and setup of new portfolios.
- Coordinating contractors, maintenance and site inspections, and monitoring compliance, risk and statutory requirements.
- Overseeing rent collection, arrears management and high-level reporting to clients.
- Supporting lease administration, documentation and general portfolio records.
Alongside the operational responsibilities, you will: - Assist in improving, documenting and updating processes and procedures.
- Provide administrative and operational support where needed across the team.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen relationships within existing portfolios.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, proposals, presentations and client meetings.
- Help develop new client relationships and be rewarded for generating new business opportunities.
This permanent, full-time position is designed to evolve over time, offering genuine scope to shape how the role operates and contributes to the broader business.
About you:You’re an experienced commercial property or asset manager who is comfortable stepping into different portfolios, quickly building rapport and keeping things running smoothly. You enjoy variety, problem-solving and being the person others rely on when it matters.
To be successful, you will bring: - Solid experience in commercial asset or property management, or a closely aligned commercial real estate role.
- Strong relationship-building skills and confidence liaising with owners, tenants and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, outcomes-focused mindset.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple portfolios.
- Comfort working both autonomously and within a collaborative, professional team environment.
- A genuine interest in process improvement, client experience and contributing to business growth.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on property management, client-facing work and strategic input, rather than a traditional “set portfolio” position.
