Hotel: Legacy Te Waonui Hotel Franz Josef
Location: West Coast - 3 Wallace Street, Franz Josef
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position
Hours of Work: Guaranteed 40 hours per week, on a rotating roster, including weekends.
Pay Rate: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for someone with strong practical maintenance experience, ideally within hospitality or a similar operational environment, who can support day-to-day maintenance, compliance, contractor coordination, and preventative maintenance across the property.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Maintenance team, allocating daily tasks
• Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and routine checks
• Carry out general repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
• Fix or replace faulty equipment, fittings, and appliances
• Maintain hotel interiors and exteriors, including painting and upkeep
• Manage grounds upkeep including lawns, gardens, and planting
• Prioritise and schedule maintenance work with the General Manager and Property Team
• Prepare team rosters and manage attendance records
• Support and collaborate with Front Office and Housekeeping teams
• Train, coach, and oversee staff to maintain service and presentation standards
• Ensure team communication, daily briefings, and smooth handovers
• Monitor team performance, resolve issues, and support staff retention
• Maintain a visible leadership presence and contribute to continuous improvement

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

• Prior experience with building repairs / maintenance
• Full NZ Drivers Licence
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
• Computer literate

The following qualifications are preferred

• Relevant trade qualification
• Electrical certificate 
• Current First Aid certificate
