Hotel: Scenic Hotel Te Pania 
Location: 45 Marine Parade, Napier South, Napier 4110
Employment Type: Full-time permanent position.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, rotating roster, including weekends.
(2 Night Audit shifts and 3 Duty Manager shifts per week)
Night Audit Shifts: 11:00pm - 7:30am 
Duty Manager Shifts: Shifts will include both morning and overnight coverage, depending on the needs of the hotel.

Wage Rate: Starting from $26.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience

About the Role:

This is a full-time Front Office leadership position combining Duty Manager and Night Audit responsibilities. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel across both day and night shifts.

The role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work across all areas of Front Office operations while also taking sole charge during night shifts.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Duty Manager / Front Office Duties

• Lead Front Office operations across day shifts and support team supervision
• Meet and greet guests and manage reservations and check-ins/check-outs
• Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and incidents promptly and professionally
• Support training and onboarding of new team members
• Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage teams to ensure smooth guest experiences
• Ensure compliance with the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act and host responsibility requirements
• Assist with wider Front Office duties as required by management

Night Audit Duties:

• Work independently as the sole person on duty during night shifts
• Oversee hotel security and respond to incidents or guest needs overnight
• Complete night audit functions, including financial reconciliation of Front Office and Food & Beverage transactions
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts and reporting
• Prepare daily reports and ensure accurate system balancing
• Schedule guest wake-up calls
• Prepare Front Office for the morning shift, including reception and public areas

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years’ Front Office or Duty Manager experience in a hotel environment
• LCQ qualification and current Manager’s Certificate required
• First Aid certificate preferred
• Full NZ Driver Licence required
• Strong financial and basic accounting ability woudl be advantegous 
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Confident working independently on night shift
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Flexible availability across a rotating roster
