Our client, a well-established WA construction contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Estimator to join their Perth office in Balcatta. This is a permanent position supporting ongoing mining construction works across the Pilbara and remote WA.
 
This role will see you managing the estimating and tendering function across multiple projects, working closely with senior leadership and delivery teams to produce accurate, competitive tenders and support smooth transition from award through to execution.
 
This role involves, but is not limited to:

• Preparing detailed and competitive tender estimates, budgets, cost plans, and take-offs for mining and construction projects.
• Managing the tender process from preparation through to submission and post-tender clarifications.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to identify commercial risks, assumptions, and opportunities.
• Compiling and validating subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Engaging with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the tender phase.
• Supporting handover of awarded projects to Operations and maintaining ongoing communication with delivery teams.
• Applying value engineering and cost optimisation strategies.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of WA market rates and construction methodologies.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' intermediate/senior-level estimating experience within the construction sector, ideally with mining or remote project exposure.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• High level of commercial awareness, including margin, risk, and contract considerations.
• Proven experience engaging with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate pricing and commercial recommendations.
• Proficiency in estimating and project platforms such as Simpro, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project.
• Experience working within client systems including Ariba, Aconex, and EstimateOne.
• Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar is preferred.
• Full unrestricted Australian working rights.

The role is based in Balcatta, working Monday to Friday. Salary is $130K-$180K depending on experience and capability.
