Field Service Technician - Power Generation
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of generators, with a primary focus on Cummins and Blue Star Power Systems. In this role, you’ll travel within our region to meet customers across healthcare, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sites, providing hands-on service and solutions. Excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a willingness to learn, are essential for success in this role.

Position Responsibilities

• As the Filed Service Technician you will install, troubleshoot, and repair generators, automatic transfer switches, and related products in the field
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving on AC/DC electrical systems
• Use wiring diagrams and schematics to diagnose and repair issues
• Service diesel, natural gas, and propane generator systems, including load banking, lube services, fueling, and cooling system maintenance
• Provide solutions and communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs
• Travel to customer sites, including outside the local area, as needed

Key Competencies

• Proficiency with computer programs (email, Word, PDF, etc.)
• Knowledge of hand and power tools
• Strong communication skills for customer and team interaction
• Organized and clean work habits to represent NGS professionally
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs efficiently

Education & Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field
• Previous experience in diesel, power generation, or a related technical field, 5+ years required
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
• Willingness to travel
