Summary of the Job:
The Sr. Software Engineer will collaborate with our Delivery team to build and enhance scalable software solutions. This role involves close partnership with Systems Analysts and Testers to ensure high-quality deliverables, provide task estimates for User Stories, and actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies.
About This Role:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React.js for the front end and Java Spring Boot for the back end. Contribute to the design and architecture of complex, modular systems, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end components. Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, facilitating efficient client-server communication.
Optimize applications for speed and scalability, ensuring high performance across devices and browsers. Maintain coding standards and implement best practices in development, testing, and deployment, emphasizing code clarity and maintainability. Work closely with cross-functional teams—including UX/UI designers, product managers, and QA engineers—to deliver robust, user-centered solutions. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance development practices and deliver solutions aligned with current best practices.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
First National Bank of Omaha is looking to fill a Sr. Software Engineer position in Omaha, NE (May telecommute part of time from home residence within Omaha, NE MSA.). Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in Computer Science, M.I.S., C.I.S., or a related field and five years’ progressively responsible experience in the occupation or a related IT field required. Experience must include the following specific skills and experience:
- 3 years’ experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on React/JavaScript Frontend Frameworks and experience in Java Spring Boot
- 3 years’ experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ECMAScript, modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue), and utility frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS); experience with TypeScript or JSDoc
- 3 years’ experience with modern front-end libraries (React, Vue)
- 3 years’ experience with Node.js and package managers (NPM, Yarn, PNPM)
- 3 years’ experience with Java Spring Boot, developing and implementing RESTful and SOAP services
- 3 years’ experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience developing UI applications using micro-frontend (MFE) architecture
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
- Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, and Apache ANT
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
- Proficient in Jest and vitest for unit and functional testing; familiarity with msw for request mocking
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience with Git, particularly with Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab
- Knowledge of Gradle, Apache Maven, or ANT is desirable
- Understanding of Java Struts and SOAP APIs
Compensation Range: $134,992 – $148,215
