Job Title: Senior/Principal Structural Engineer
Site Location: Sheffield (hybrid working available)
Responsible To: Structures Team Lead
Purpose of the Role: To deliver innovative and sustainable structural designs for a variety of projects, ensuring health, safety, and sustainability considerations are central to all engineering solutions.
Client Brief: To contribute to high-profile projects across multiple sectors, including aviation, healthcare, education, and more.
 
KEY INFORMATION
 
Reason for Vacancy: Expansion of the Structures team and the need for additional expertise in delivering high-profile projects.
Contract: Permanent
Salary Range: £45,000 - £55,000
Shifts: Standard business hours with hybrid working options
Holidays: 26 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing to 31 days with loyalty days

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The Role: As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and analyse structural designs. You will deliver detailed and creative designs, drawings, and specifications using 3D software, and produce high-quality written reports. Your responsibilities will also include:

• Engaging with architects, clients, and the wider design team to develop efficient structural solutions.
• Supporting junior team members and supervising design staff, providing guidance on design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Contributing to the mentoring program to further enhance your skills and leadership capabilities.
• Promoting sustainable design practices and innovations within projects.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

• Relevant civil or structural engineering degree
• Achieved chartership or working towards becoming a chartered structural engineer
• Innovative and creative approach to structural design
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and British Standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills
