Job Title - Production Operative
Site location - Deeside Industrial Park, Deeside, Flintshire
Responsible to - Shift Manager / Production Supervisor
Purpose of the role - To support the manufacturing operation through the safe and efficient production, assembly and quality checking of automotive fuel tanks and associated components, working to strict production and quality standards.
Client brief - Our client is a leading global automotive manufacturer specialising in fuel system and fluid management components, supplying major automotive manufacturers worldwide. The Deeside operation is a long-established manufacturing facility producing automotive fuel tanks and associated components.

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy - Increased Demand
Contract - Temporary to Permanent
Hourly Rate - £15.70ph
Shifts - 12-hour rotating shifts, 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am, rotating between days and nights
Overtime - Regular overtime may be available subject to business requirements and site demand.
Holidays - Accrual
Facilities - Established manufacturing facility with on-site welfare facilities, including canteen and rest areas. Free on-site parking available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role - Our client is looking for Production Operatives to support their existing team within their busy automotive manufacturing operation in Deeside. The role involves working within a fast-paced production environment manufacturing automotive fuel tanks and associated components. As a Production Operative, the requirements are varied but not limited to -

• Operating and monitoring production machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures.
• Manufacturing and assembling automotive fuel tanks and associated components to required specifications.
• Carrying out regular visual and quality checks throughout the production process.
• Following detailed work instructions, production specifications and quality standards.
• Identifying and reporting any defects, faults or quality issues to the relevant supervisor.
• Handling raw materials, components and finished products safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring finished products are correctly checked, packed and prepared for the next stage of production.
• Working as part of a team to achieve daily production, quality and efficiency targets.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment in line with 5S and site standards.
• Adhering to all company health & safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe working practices.
• Completing relevant production paperwork and recording information accurately where required.
• Carrying out general production duties as required to support the smooth running of the manufacturing operation.

Key Skills Required -

• Previous manufacturing or production experience is highly desirable.
• Experience working within an automotive or similar high-volume manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Previous experience operating production machinery is desirable.
• Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
• Ability to work to production targets and strict deadlines.
• Must be reliable, punctual and committed to the role.
• Must be comfortable working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.
• Must be physically capable of working within a busy manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand work instructions, health & safety requirements and production procedures.
• Strong team-working skills with a flexible approach to duties and responsibilities.
• A positive attitude towards health & safety, quality and continuous improvement.
