RESPONSIBILITIES
The role in brief The purpose of this position is to ensure the organisation provides a safe working environment for all employees that complies with best practice and Environmental, Health and Safety legislation. The ideal candidate needs to be proactive and able to react efficiently to unforeseen circumstances.
The role of EH&S Co-ordinator is challenging but provides a real opportunity for the right person to develop and Co-Ordinate the EH&S system as they anticipate. The role is currently a standalone position and therefore success depends on the individuals own drive and ambition to succeed.
In addition, you will be in communication with Head Office undergoing training as required and reporting on the organisations accident and waste performance. You will also be expected to set annual targets and report on progress.
Key Responsibilities · To ensure Environmental and Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently
· To monitor, evaluate and review policy and procedure and make recommendations as required
· To assist in the identification and development of training for employees and deliver on-site training
· To advise the management team on the implications of current and emerging Environmental and Health and Safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the organisation
· To support managers to maintain safe systems of work that includes providing advice, coaching and practical hands-on support
· To assist managers in implementing Environmental and Health and Safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
· To carry out H&S audits
· To ensure routine Environmental and Health and Safety activities and checks are carried out, recorded and monitored
· To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist others to investigate accidents and implement containment actions
· To undertake any other duties as required by management with the EH&S remit
· Provide environmental reports and corporate reports · Manage all onsite waste that’s include identification, collection, storage and containment
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential · Up to date IOSH qualification · Previous working experience with health and safety processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
Desired · Up to date NEBOSH qualification or working towards the completion of this qualification
