What you'll do in this role:
This position is responsible for applying advanced quality engineering principles and theoretical knowledge to solve quality problems and develop, implement, and monitor quality systems and processes. This position works closely with operations and engineering teams to solve problems, improve productivity, and develop and document processes to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001, CFR, FAA) and our quality management system.
How you will be measured:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, CFR, FAA, AS13100, and customer requirements.
- Assist in the development, deployment, and maintenance of electronic quality management system.
- Provide support in executing all requirements of established systems.
- Lead or support internal quality system, product and process audits to ensure compliance to internal and external requirements and provide support for external audits.
- Lead or support investigations to identify root causes and implement containment and corrective actions.
- Recommend improvements to established systems to enable company-wide compliance with all applicable regulations, both voluntary and compulsory.
- Be a mentor to others when interpreting quality system requirements, conducting statistical studies, and performing root cause & corrective actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What sets you apart Qualifications:
- Eligible to work in an ITAR-regulated environment required.
- Technical bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant job experience (or 3-4 years of experience in a technical field related to the manufacturing environment and professional certification) required.
- 2 - 4 years of experience as a quality engineer or similar role in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Internal or Lead Auditor, and Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred. Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100 is a plus.
- Audit experience is a plus.
- Experience with nonconformance/material review board, FMEA, PPAP / APQP, IQ/OQ/PQ, process validation a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs is required.
- Strong ability to organize procedural steps and write process documentation required.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills required.
- Experience with standard root cause / corrective action methods preferred.
- The ability to effectively manage projects and lead teams to solve problems is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications required. Proficiency with Minitab a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
