Our client, a long-standing and respected manufacturer in North Tonawanda, NY, is seeking multiple skilled Welders to join their team!
This is a full-time/direct hire/on-site position
Hourly: Up to $26K depending on experience
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on trades professional who takes pride in precision craftsmanship, quality workmanship, and contributing to a team that supports critical industrial applications.
The Welder will perform a wide range of welding, brazing, and cutting operations on ferrous and non‑ferrous metals. This role requires strong technical ability, blueprint interpretation, and the skill to execute high‑quality welds in all positions. You'll work both in the shop and occasionally in the field, supporting fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities essential to plant operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to plan welding procedures and determine required tools and materials.
- Set up, prepare, and assemble components for welding, ensuring proper fit-up and cleanliness.
- Perform all types of welds—including lap, butt, V‑groove, and pressure welds—using gas and electric welding equipment.
- Execute welding in all positions while accounting for heat, shrinkage, warpage, and material properties.
- Conduct preheat, post‑heat, and flame annealing processes as required.
- Build up worn or damaged surfaces, perform brazing, and complete cutting operations using burning equipment.
- Clean, chip, grind, and finish welds to meet quality and code requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas with attention to safety and care.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper shielding and guarding, to protect yourself and others.
Required Experience - 1-3 years of welding experience or equivalent training in gas and electric welding techniques.
- Ability to interpret drawings, understand welding properties of various metals, and apply correct welding practices.
- Strong manual skills and torch/electrode control across all welding positions.
- Commitment to producing high‑quality welds that meet code and inspection standards.
- Awareness of safety procedures and the ability to set up proper guards and shields.
- Physical ability to work in various positions, handle materials, and perform moderate exertion tasks.
