Our client in Indianapolis, IN, is looking for a contract Engagement Manager to join their team!
This is a hybrid/full-time/12-month contract position
Hourly range based on experience: $100/HR
Our client is looking for an Engagement Manager to support a key program within one of their life sciences clients. The program is a supplemental benefits initiative designed to provide employees and associations with additional discounts beyond standard prescription benefits and health insurance. The program operates across multiple workstreams and requires dedicated leadership to coordinate between Product Owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams. This role will require regular on-site travel to Indianapolis, IN.
As the program's strategic anchor, you will align delivery with overarching business objectives, manage complex stakeholder ecosystems, and ensure seamless program adoption across multiple workstreams. Key responsibilities include strategic program planning, resource optimization, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and ensuring programs are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.
Role Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact and accountability for the Employer Program engagement.
- Own the overall program plan, tracking milestones, dependencies, and delivery progress across all active workstreams.
- Facilitate regular cadence meetings and working sessions with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
- Identify risks and issues early, develop mitigation plans, and escalate appropriately when needed.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Product Owners, business leads, and program sponsors.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders at all levels, from working teams through to executive sponsors.
- Prepare and deliver program status updates, executive briefings, and steering committee materials as required.
- Manage stakeholder expectations proactively, particularly around scope, timeline, and resource changes.
- Cross-Workstream Coordination
- Coordinate across multiple parallel workstreams, ensuring alignment on priorities, handoffs, and shared dependencies.
- Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and reflected in delivery.
- Facilitate cross-team decision-making and remove blockers that prevent workstreams from moving forward.
- Ensure consistent communication and alignment between business and delivery teams throughout the engagement.
- Delivery Oversight
- Monitor delivery quality and ensure commitments made to Lilly are met on time and within scope.
- Track and report on key program metrics, including milestone completion, open risks, and resource utilization.
- Maintain accurate and current program documentation, including status reports, RAID logs, and decision registers.
- Support internal reporting requirements for delivery leadership.
Experience/Skills Required: - 3+ years of experience working as a Program Manager, Engagement Lead, or Account Manager leading large-scale, multi-million dollar corporate or enterprise programs.
- 10+ years of total Project/Program Management (PMO) experience.
- 5+ years of professional consulting or client-facing agency experience.
- Industry expertise: familiarity with employer benefits, prescription programs, or health insurance a strong plus
- Financial Capability: Competent to manage $2M+ programs annually, including driving forecast accuracy and program profitability.
- Stakeholder Savvy: Proven mastery in maintaining key corporate relationships, driving critical decisions, and providing thoughtful leadership to clients and matrixed internal teams.
- People Management: Experience managing 10+ team members, including other Project Managers.
- Core Toolkit: Expertise in using collaboration and project tracking tools like Smartsheet, Lucidcharts, Google Apps, and MS Office.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and risk management capabilities.
Additional Preferred Experience/Skills: - Substantial life sciences/pharmaceutical experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Salesforce technical certification in Salesforce (Admin certified) Preferred
- CSM, Agile, or PMP certifications are nice to have
