Senior Civil Engineer | Permanent | Brisbane | $120,000–$170,000 + Super

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Brisbane.

This opportunity is suited to a technically strong and hands-on civil engineer looking to take greater ownership, build direct client relationships and contribute to the continued development of a growing Civil team.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across private industrial, commercial and downstream fuel projects, while remaining closely involved in technical design, calculations, design reviews and mentoring.

THE OPPORTUNITY

In this role, you will lead and deliver civil engineering design across a range of multidisciplinary projects while working closely with clients, internal engineering disciplines and drafting teams.
You’ll have genuine influence within the business, with the opportunity to contribute to the technical direction and development of the Civil team while developing your own leadership and commercial capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and deliver civil engineering design across industrial, commercial and multidisciplinary projects
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, design documentation and drawing mark-ups
• Direct and support designers and drafters to ensure designs are practical, accurate and compliant
• Undertake technical reviews, verification and engineering sign-off appropriate to your experience and registration
• Apply relevant Australian design standards and navigate local authority, council and approval requirements
• Communicate directly with clients throughout project delivery
• Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines to deliver integrated project outcomes
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development and capability of the Civil team
• Build strong, trusted client relationships
• Identify opportunities to support business growth and expand existing client relationships
• Contribute to both the technical and commercial success of projects

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys being technically hands-on and wants to have a genuine impact within a smaller, established consultancy.

You'll ideally have:

• A recognised Civil Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Approximately 8–10+ years' relevant experience
• Strong Australian civil engineering consultancy experience
• Strong technical civil design capability
• Experience completing engineering calculations, reviewing designs and marking up drawings
• Experience directing and supporting drafting resources
• Sound knowledge of Australian design standards
• Strong understanding of local authorities, councils and the approvals environment
• RPEQ registration, or the capability to obtain and maintain the appropriate registration
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring capabilities
• A stable career history and genuine interest in building a long-term career within an established consultancy

YOUR BACKGROUND
Experience within a small-to-medium multidisciplinary engineering consultancy will be highly regarded, particularly across private industrial or commercial projects.

Candidates from larger consultancies may also be considered where they have remained technically hands-on and are looking for greater ownership, influence and the opportunity to help shape a team.

Construction or site-based experience can also be valuable where it is supported by genuine consultancy design experience and a clear interest in returning to technical consulting.
