Senior Contracts Administrator | Commercial Construction | Brisbane & SEQ Projects

An opportunity is now available for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join the team, working between the Brisbane office and project sites across South East Queensland.

THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take a hands-on role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring contracts are effectively administered, risks are managed and projects remain commercially controlled.

You'll work closely with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and other key stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered successfully.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts in line with company standards and legal requirements
• Ensure contracts comply with relevant legislation, regulations and contractual obligations
• Identify, assess and mitigate potential contractual and commercial risks
• Provide commercial guidance and support to project teams
• Establish and maintain accurate cost control systems, including project budgets and forecasting
• Manage subcontractor procurement and contractual relationships
• Review and manage subcontractor progress claims
• Assess and administer variations and contractual claims
• Monitor project costs, commitments and financial performance
• Assist with project forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting
• Liaise with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders
• Maintain clear contractual communication and documentation
• Support the project team in achieving strong commercial outcomes

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Contracts Administrator within commercial construction
• Practical experience working on construction projects valued up to $100M
• Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks, roads, mining-related projects or similar contractor environments will also be highly regarded
• Proven hands-on experience across subcontractor procurement, progress claims, variations, cost control and project forecasting
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a related discipline
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of construction contracts
• Experience with construction management software such as Jobpac
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Highly developed organisational and time-management skills
• Strong ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders
• A proactive and commercially minded approach
