Job Title: Lettings & Housing Officer
Type: Temporary 8 weeks
Location: Bristol
Salary: £16 - £20.81 an hour
Hours: 32 hours per week
 
BRC are working closely with a client who is looking for a proactive and organised Lettings & Housing Officer to join their team in Bristol.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in lettings, housing administration, property management or customer service to play a key role in coordinating property lettings, supporting residents and ensuring properties are occupied as efficiently as possible.
 
This role involves coordinating the lettings process from initial enquiry or referral through to tenancy sign-up and occupation, alongside providing day-to-day tenancy administration and support to applicants and residents.
 
Duties:

• Coordinate the letting of vacant properties, ensuring applications are progressed efficiently and delays are followed up.
• Maintain accurate records of available properties, applicants, referrals, viewings, offers and anticipated move-in dates.
• Respond to enquiries from prospective tenants and arrange, conduct and follow up property viewings.
• Process applications and referrals, ensuring all required documentation is obtained and recorded accurately.
• Complete tenancy sign-ups and ensure new tenants receive the necessary tenancy and property information.
• Liaise with maintenance colleagues to monitor vacant properties, outstanding works and expected ready-to-let dates.
• Maintain regular communication with Bristol City Council and other referral partners regarding nominations, applications and accommodation availability.
• Maintain accurate lettings and nomination monitoring logs, ensuring key dates, actions and outcomes are up to date.
• Administer and monitor the Bristol City Council VNF process, tracking referrals, deadlines and required actions.
• Use Microsoft Excel to maintain trackers, monitor deadlines and provide accurate management information.
• Use electronic record-management systems, including Arthur, to maintain accurate applicant and resident records.
• Manage day-to-day tenancy issues, investigate concerns and issue appropriate correspondence and tenancy letters.
• Coordinate tenancy endings, including Notices to Quit, resident communication, check-outs, meter readings and key returns.

Requirements:

• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Previous experience in lettings, property administration, housing administration, estate agency, customer service or a similar role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including maintaining spreadsheets, trackers and monitoring information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A friendly, approachable and patient manner, with a strong customer-service focus.
• A proactive approach, with the confidence to follow up outstanding information and progress tasks independently.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and produce professional correspondence.
• Confidence using CRM systems or electronic record-management systems.

Desirable:

• Experience in residential lettings, social housing, temporary accommodation or property management.
• Experience working with local authority housing teams, nominations or referral processes.
