BRC are working closely with a supported housing provider who are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Operative to join their team in Bristol.
 
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and self-motivated individual to join an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable people and helping them achieve independent living.
 
 
This role involves
 
Providing a responsive maintenance service across a portfolio of residential properties, ensuring accommodation and communal grounds are safe, well-maintained and presented to a high standard. You will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, including preparing vacant properties ready for new occupants.
 
 
Duties:

• Carrying out general property maintenance, repairs and planned preventative maintenance.
• Undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, joinery, electrical and decorating tasks.
• Preparing vacant properties to ensure they are ready for re-letting within required timescales.
• Assembling, moving and installing furniture and equipment.
• Assisting residents with minor DIY tasks where appropriate.
• Identifying and reporting property defects, maintenance issues and health and safety concerns.
• Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant maintenance paperwork.
• Working independently and alongside colleagues to ensure a high-quality service.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and organisational procedures.

 
Requirements:

• Previous experience in a general maintenance or property maintenance role.
• Good practical knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently, manage workloads and work effectively as part of a team.
• A reliable, flexible and self-motivated approach.
• Good communication skills and a patient, empathetic attitude when working within residents' homes.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling and other physically demanding duties.
• Right to work in the UK.
