CNC / Sliding Head Lathe Machinist - Night Shift
Location: Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 Pay: £16.50 - £18.00 per hour + night shift premium (time and a third) overtime at time and a half Hours: Monday to Thursday, 39 hours (18:00 - 06:00) Contract: Permanent
About the Role
Hunters 4 Staff are looking for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Lathe Machinist to join a well-established engineering company who specialise in the aerospace and F1 sectors. This is a night shift role with great earning potential and overtime available at time and a half.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate sliding head lathes (ideally Star lathes, but others considered)
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Carry out quality checks to ensure precision and accuracy
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
Work to production targets and deadlines
Requirements
Proven experience in setting and operating sliding head lathes
Knowledge of CNC programming and tooling adjustments
Ability to work independently on night shifts
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Flexible for overtime when required
