Machine Operative - Maternity Cover
Location: Elkes Biscuit Factory, Uttoxeter.
Pay Rate: £12.71
Contract Type: Temporary-Perm (Maternity Cover)
Working Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday shift - 7.00am to 7.00pm
Hunters 4 Staff are working with Elkes Biscuit Factory to recruit a mechanically minded operative to cover a maternity leave starting in June. This role is hands‑on and based within the Zero line, working with key production machinery.
The successful person will ideally start as soon as possible to allow time for full training and a proper handover.
The Role
- Operating and monitoring Mondo, Creamer and associated production machinery
- Carrying out basic mechanical checks, adjustments and fault‑finding
- Supporting smooth production and minimising downtime
- Working safely and following food manufacturing standards
- Communicating any issues to engineering and shift teams
What We're Looking For
- Someone mechanically minded with experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Comfortable working 12‑hour shifts (7am-7pm)
- Willing to learn and be trained on specialist machinery
- Reliable, hands‑on and able to work as part of a team
