Your new role
Are you a dynamic communicator with a passion for media engagement?
Our Hays Sydney CBD office is seeking an internal PR and External Communications Manager, ANZ to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role commencing immediately.
As the PR and External Communications Manager for ANZ, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the relevance and positioning of the Hays brand within the ANZ market. You will act as a conduit between the insight and expertise within our business and targeted media outlets, delivering an external communications strategy that reinforces Hays as true experts in the world of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a proactive media strategy for the Hays brand across Australia & New Zealand.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Brand and Communications to develop targeted media engagement activities that support our key campaigns, events, products, and initiatives.
- Create, share, and amplify PR & External Comms content to position Hays within key media.
- Increase the profile of Hays’ senior executives for comment and insight on key industry and employment issues, positioning Hays as the go-to recruiter in the market.
- Field and respond to inbound media enquiries, oversee media monitoring, and manage the Hays media database.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and publications/news sources.
- Manage the Meltwater platform, developing and distributing regular reports and insights on Hays’ share of voice, competitive intelligence, and opportunities to amplify our earned media efforts.
- Support front-line sales through strategies and initiatives that enhance our expert positioning and improve the sales process.
- Develop and execute a targeted plan to feed relevant insights from the market and media responses to key areas of the ANZ business.
- Develop awareness and understanding of the Global crisis media response plan.
- Maintain relevant and legally approved holding statements for sensitive topics that may arise in crisis situations.
What You'll Need to Succeed - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Business.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills with a passion for identifying opportune angles for media pick-up.
- Highly developed communication skills with a creative flair for crafting messages that connect emotionally and purposefully.
- A creative problem solver who can overcome challenges and ambiguity to drive outcomes.
- Strong influencing skills, particularly at a senior and executive level.
- Proven ability to build and leverage relationships internally and externally.
