Your new role
Our Hays Sydney CBD office is seeking an internal Accounts Payable Officer to join the team. It is a full-time permanent role commencing immediately. This role focuses on processing invoices, ensuring authorisation prior to payment and to ensure payments are made in a timely manner and in accordance with supplier terms.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately code invoices to ensure all costs correctly flow to profit and loss and balance sheet accounts
- Enter invoices into the accounting system in a prompt manner. Key invoices are to be proactively sought to ensure accurate periodic reporting
- Approve all invoices as per the delegated authority jurisdictions provided
- Review of recurring invoices to ensure they are consistent with expectations
- Ensure that weekly payments are made in accordance with Accounts Payable department deadlines
- Ensure that payments are made in accordance with supplier terms
- Maintain supplier bank details to ensure correct payment
- Process employee expense claims and pay all eligible claims each week
- Maintain regular FBT reporting within the required timeframes with detailed information as required
- Maintain and update supplier records and payment terms, when required
What you'll need to succeed - Experience in Accounting: Demonstrated knowledge or exposure to accounting practices.
- Accuracy and Speed: Exceptional precision and efficiency in data processing.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Results-Driven: Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving outcomes.
- Proactive and Flexible: Ability to work under pressure, adapt, and take initiative.
