Role Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Betel production facility in Reunion Island. This role ensures smooth plant operations, cost-effective procurement, quality production, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders - including the HDM, finance teams, auditors, and local customers.
Role Responsibilities
Plant Operations & Production
Oversee all daily plant operations to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Supervise and support one Plant Operator, ensuring adherence to operational standards and safety protocols.
Monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished goods; ensure timely reordering and delivery.
Maintain proper records of production volumes, quality checks, and downtime.
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Manage ordering and procurement of all inputs (raw materials, packaging, consumables, etc.) in line with production schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and accurate documentation.
Manage relationships with local service providers (e.g., transport, utilities, waste disposal, maintenance contractors).
Maintenance & Technical Oversight
Arrange for maintenance services for equipment and facility as needed.
Ensure proper maintenance logs, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety inspections are conducted.
Liaise with HDM or technical experts for specialized repairs or upgrades.
Financial Administration & Compliance
Prepare and process invoices for suppliers and customers; follow up on payments and receipts.
Maintain clear records for local accounting and audit purposes.
Serve as the key interface with HDM, regional finance teams, and external auditing firms to ensure compliance with company and local regulatory requirements.
Support local statutory reporting and audits (financial, safety, environmental).
Stakeholder & Customer Management and Business Development
Build and maintain strong relationships with local customers and distributors.
Ensure timely communication and issue resolution with customers.
Act as the key company representative in Reunion Island, maintaining a professional and compliant local presence.
Revitalize BETEL product sales in reunion - increase sales revenue.
Promote the company product adoption in Reunion to local prescribers, growers and distributors.
Reporting & Coordination
Provide regular operational, financial, and maintenance reports to HDM and regional leadership.
Participate in periodic review meetings with the Regional Office.
Escalate major operational, financial, or compliance issues promptly.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Technical Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5-8 years of experience in plant operations, supply chain, or production management (preferably in agrochemical, manufacturing, or FMCG environment).
Strong administrative and financial acumen.
Experience managing small teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
