International Banking Manager
Miami, FL, Full-time
$125,000 to $145,000, depending on experience
A well-established international banking institution is seeking an experienced and polished International Banking Manager to support and expand a high-profile portfolio of personal and private banking relationships in Miami, FL. This role is ideal for a banking professional with strong relationship management experience, excellent client service instincts, proven leadership ability, and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements within a banking environment.
The International Banking Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients, support business development initiatives, oversee day-to-day client relationship activity, and provide guidance to assigned banking team members. The ideal candidate will bring a strong balance of client relationship management, operational discipline, compliance awareness, and commercial judgment.
Responsibilities
- Manage, retain, and expand a portfolio of personal, private banking, and high-net-worth client relationships.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, account needs, documentation, and customized banking solutions.
- Develop long-term client relationships by identifying opportunities to deepen engagement through deposits, lending products, treasury-related services, lines of credit, time deposits, and other banking solutions.
- Support business development through referrals, prospect meetings, networking, and relationship expansion activities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and guidance to assigned banking team members to ensure service quality, timely follow-up, and efficient workflow management.
- Assist with training, onboarding, coaching, and knowledge sharing within the personal banking area.
- Coordinate and oversee account openings, account maintenance, renewals, loan products, lines of credit, time deposits, and related banking services.
- Review and validate KYC, CIP/CDD, beneficial ownership, and related client documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of required reviews.
- Support BSA/AML compliance efforts by responding to compliance inquiries, monitoring flags, profile exceptions, unusual activity reviews, and matters requiring resolution or escalation.
- Partner closely with internal departments, operations, compliance, and senior leadership to ensure client transactions and service requests are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Escalate sensitive or complex client, operational, or compliance matters as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records, documentation, and interaction notes within applicable systems.
- Promote a client-focused, accountable, professional, and collaborative team culture.
- Support departmental goals, service standards, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
- Travel as needed to meet with existing and prospective clients.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in personal banking, private banking, international banking, relationship management, private wealth, or a related financial services role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Prior supervisory, team lead, mentoring, or staff oversight experience within a banking or financial services environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, account management, client onboarding, and relationship management practices.
- Working knowledge of KYC, CIP/CDD, BSA/AML, beneficial ownership, Customer Due Diligence, and related regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow client relationships while maintaining strong service standards and compliance discipline.
- Strong business development skills with the ability to identify opportunities for relationship expansion and cross-selling.
- Excellent communication, organization, follow-up, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, professional, and highly regulated environment.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, professionalism, and commitment to service excellence.
