About the role:
We are looking for a New Product Planning Lead to drive the integrated launch planning and commercialisation of licensed innovative medicines across the Australian market.
Reporting to the New Product Planning Manager, you’ll take new products from signed licence agreement through to commercial launch and transition into business-as-usual, bringing together all elements of the launch into one clear and executable plan. In addition, you’ll support business development in the assessment and compilation of pitch presentation for key in-licensing opportunities
Acting as the central cross-functional lead, you’ll coordinate teams across Business Development Regulatory, Medical, Pharmacovigilance, Pricing & Reimbursement, Alliance Management, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, ensuring clear ownership, dependencies, key decisions and launch readiness are aligned and on track.
This is a highly collaborative role focused on integration, governance and execution. You won’t replace functional expertise; instead, you’ll connect specialist teams and ensure their individual strategies and deliverables come together to enable a successful Australian launch.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end launch planning for innovative medicines and new chemical entities, from licence signing through commercial launch and BAU transition.
- Develop integrated go-to-market strategies, using market, competitor and commercial insights to shape launch scenarios, priorities and critical milestones.
- Establish and lead launch governance, including cross-functional ownership, RACI, decision rights, stage gates, reporting and readiness requirements.
- Own the integrated Australian launch plan, aligning Regulatory, Medical, Market Access, Supply, Safety, Commercial and Finance activities, dependencies and timelines.
- Drive cross-functional execution and commercial readiness, proactively managing risks, resolving dependencies and coordinating Marketing and Sales mobilisation as launch approaches.
- Lead launch readiness and transition, including simulations, go/no-go recommendations, executive reporting, post-launch review and handover into BAU.
- support business development in the assessment and pitch for key in-licensing opportunities
Key Skills and Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Science, Pharmacy, Health, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience delivering pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare product launches in Australia, ideally involving innovative medicines.
- Strong understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical landscape, including TGA registration, PBAC/PBS reimbursement and commercial launch dependencies.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional programs, influencing senior stakeholders and working with global licensors or external partners.
- Strong program and project management capability, including critical-path planning, risk management, governance, prioritisation and executive reporting.
- Highly developed commercial judgement, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive accountability, make clear decisions and adapt plans in a changing launch environment.
