About the role
DBG Health is looking for a proactive, commercially minded National Account Executive to support our National Accounts team within Prescription and Consumer Sales. Reporting to the Senior National Business Manager, you’ll work closely with National Business Managers and National Account Managers to support our national pharmacy customers, buying groups and wholesalers.
This is an opportunity to combine your relationship-building skills with hands-on promotional planning, trade spend management and sales analysis. You’ll help deliver customer activations, coordinate new product launches and maintain accurate pricing and customer information, supporting execution and sales growth across key pharmacy accounts.
A key focus of the role is coordinating customer-facing promotional and trade advertising activity across pharmacy catalogues, point-of-sale materials and wholesale portals. Working with National Account Managers, Marketing and Design, you’ll coordinate promotional submissions, brief artwork requirements and proof catalogue content to support customer activations. You’ll also monitor co-operative advertising spend against agreed budgets and manage related invoices and monthly accruals. These activities form part of the promotion and trade spend management responsibilities.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support National Business Managers and National Account Managers to deliver strategic account plans and commercial objectives across national pharmacy customers.
- Coordinate promotional planning and trade advertising activities as part of promotion and trade spend management. Maintain the promotional planning template, prepare promotional submission forms and proof catalogues; brief Marketing and Design on artwork for catalogue submissions; coordinate point-of-sale material requests and delivery to stores or Territory Managers for customer activations; and manage trade advertising on wholesale portals.
- Review customer promotional invoices, including co-operative advertising invoices; track co-operative advertising spend against agreed budgets; and manage the monthly trade spend accrual process.
- Build strong relationships with customers, wholesalers and internal stakeholders, coordinating enquiries and identifying opportunities to support account growth.
- Maintain customer pricelists and contract pricing on wholesale accounts, and prepare and process free stock orders in line with customer agreements.
- Coordinate new product information, maintain launch trackers and support Stage Gate milestones and customer New Line Form submissions.
- Maintain accurate customer classifications and account information within the CRM.
- Prepare sales and compliance reports, analyse performance data and develop reporting templates to support account planning.
- Assist with customer and internal presentations, wholesaler product presentations and national account events.
- Maintain knowledge of the pharmacy landscape and uphold company policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills & Experience: - 1–2 years’ experience in a National Account Executive role within the pharmaceutical industry or a similarly complex environment.
- Previous Territory Management sales experience, with substantial experience in key accounts or sales management across FMCG, FMCH and/or dispensary generics.
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor sales activity and translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience monitoring trade spend and maintaining accurate records to support compliance with agreed budgets.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with experience delivering administrative and project support while managing competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trusted customer relationships and collaborate across teams.
- Confidence using CRM systems, pharmacy data extraction tools and business intelligence platforms.
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and a commitment to working collaboratively.
- A valid Australian driver licence and the ability to travel interstate throughout the year for customer and team meetings, corporate events and conferences.
