A warm, professional private family is seeking an experienced, dependable Temporary Nanny to provide coverage for their current caregiver during maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, proactive, organized, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative two-nanny team.
The family has two children, ages 6.5 and 3, and is looking for someone who can provide exceptional care, consistency, and support throughout the temporary assignment.
Position Overview
The nanny will serve as the primary caregiver for the family's 3-year-old daughter, while also providing support to the 6.5-year-old son as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a nanny who enjoys working in a well-organized household and collaborating with another experienced caregiver.
The family is seeking coverage from November through the end of February, approximately 12 weeks, with several weeks of training and overlap prior to the maternity leave beginning.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
• Four days per week: 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
• One day per week: 7:30 AM–1:30 PM
• The shorter day may potentially be extended to 5:30 PM for a candidate who prefers additional hours.
• Start date is flexible, with training/overlap beginning a few weeks prior to the November start and potentially beginning earlier depending on the candidate's availability.
Responsibilities
• Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for the 3-year-old
• Support the 6.5-year-old as needed with daily routines, school-related needs, activities, and transitions
• Manage children's daily schedules, activities, outings, and appointments as appropriate
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
• Maintain children's rooms, play areas, and belongings in an organized condition
• Handle children's laundry and light child-related household tasks
• Coordinate smoothly with the family's existing caregiver
• Provide consistent communication with parents regarding the children's schedules, activities, and needs
• Maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment for both children
• Participate in the training and transition period to ensure continuity of care
Household Team
This position works alongside a second nanny who is with the family Monday–Friday from 12:00 PM–8:00 PM and primarily focuses on the 6.5-year-old son.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working collaboratively within a professional household team, communicating effectively, respecting established routines, and maintaining a seamless experience for the children and parents.
