PART-TIME AFTERNOON NANNYUpper West Side, Manhattan | Infant & Child Development Focus
A warm, close-knit family on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and energetic Part-Time Afternoon Nanny to join their household in November 2026.
The family has two children: a baby girl born in June 2026 and a son who will turn six in October. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infant nanny or professional nanny who loves working with babies and is passionate about child development.
The afternoon nanny will work alongside the family’s established full-time nanny. The primary responsibility will be caring for the infant while the full-time nanny focuses on the older child after school. The family has a strong, trusting relationship with their current nanny and is looking for someone who will become a collaborative and dependable member of their childcare team.
The mother works a hybrid schedule and is home much of the week, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with parents and another nanny while maintaining clear, professional communication.

- Follow the family’s established infant schedule and routines, including feeding, naps, play, and developmental activities.

- Work collaboratively with the full-time nanny to ensure both children receive consistent and attentive care.
- Communicate openly and professionally with parents and household staff.

- Receive and bring household or child-related deliveries into the apartment and unpack as needed.
- Provide additional childcare coverage when the full-time nanny is sick or unavailable, or when the older child is out of school or camp.
- Occasionally provide additional weekday or weekend coverage with advance notice and based on availability.
SCHEDULE
Monday–Friday | Approximately 2:30 PM–6:00/6:30 PM - Flexibility to occasionally stay until 7:00 PM (Mon-Thurs) when needed.
- Some days may end earlier depending on the mother’s schedule.

- Strong potential for the position to become a long-term nanny role
- Potential opportunity to transition to full-time in September 2027
- Additional weekday hours may occasionally be available.
- Very occasional weekend coverage may be requested with advance notice.
The family understands that a part-time nanny may have other professional or educational commitments and will make every effort to respect those commitments when requesting additional coverage.
