Position: Lawyer/Senior Lawyer - Civil Litigation G-10- mg1
Location: Harrow
Hourly Rate: £40 p/hour
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm 
Duration: 4 months (Possible Extension)
Purpose of the Role:

Support the development and growth of HB Public Law by collaborating with Team Leaders and Service Managers. The role encompasses providing expert legal counsel, managing legal cases, mentoring team members, and deputizing for senior lawyers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Case Management:

• Provide legal advice and representation on civil litigation matters, including housing, homelessness, and licensing, for a range of clients such as local authorities, housing associations, and schools.
• Conduct legal research to support casework and client needs.

• Represent HB Public Law in court and at meetings, including those outside regular office hours or at off-site locations.

• Deliver proactive, politically sensitive advice to officers and members, including in public forums.

• Offer guidance and training to less experienced team members, fostering their professional growth.

• Act as a deputy for senior lawyers when required, ensuring continuity in leadership and support.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, including Lexcel requirements and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) guidelines.
• Participate in service improvements, including contributing to team development and practice-wide initiatives.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working locations, with travel to client offices, courts, and other sites as needed
