Are you eager to land a brand new role for the? Our client in West London are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role in their Homelessness Team.

Position: Management Accountant
Location: West London
Hourly Rate: £27.84 p/h (Umbrella)
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm 
Duration: 3 months (Possible Extension)

Key Responsibilities

• Quarterly Revenue and Capital Budget Monitoring report, ensuring all forecast data is gathered, processed, and presented to deadlines.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to budget holders, offering advice on salaries, forecasting, and other budget-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations across service areas. Identify and report any instances of non-compliance or process deficiencies.
• Oversee and review efficiency statements, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and supporting central government initiatives to assess service efficiency.
• Monitor and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support the correction of errors, mispostings, and adjustments using journals, virements, and accruals.
• Assist in special projects, providing ad-hoc advice, estimates, and support for service areas as required.
•  Handle complex financial queries from creditors, debtors, council officers, and partner organizations, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, ensuring efficient processes and effective use of resources across the organization.
• Advise on the use of financial systems to support day-to-day operations and business activities, ensuring financial data is captured accurately.
• Undertake tasks to support career progression, in line with personal development objectives, and provide support to colleagues within the finance team

Job Requirements

• AAT qualified or equivalent experience in a finance-related role.

Qualifications:

• AAT qualified or equivalent experience in a finance-related role.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Skills, Experience, and Attitude:

• Solid understanding of local government finance and the application of accounting principles.
• Experience in budget setting, in-year monitoring, and closing accounts.
• Proficient in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to extract and manipulate complex data.
• Detailed experience in using financial systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) for financial management.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance staff.
