As part of ALS’s strategic digital roadmap, we’ve launched the Global eQMS, and now we’re expanding our dynamic project team with a new Business Analyst role based in the APAC region.
We’re looking for someone who not only understands best business practices, ideally within a laboratory setting, but also brings a passion for technology and innovation. In this versatile and rewarding role, you’ll report directly to the Technical Lead for the Global eQMS and work closely with the eQMS Project Management Team and operational experts to identify and implement business change requirements. You’ll support the software development team in crafting and testing solutions and provide essential technical support to eQMS users.

The day to day
- Partners with business stakeholders to identify, refine, and write detailed business specifications.
- Acts as a consultant to internal business groups on process improvement projects.
- Actively develops detailed knowledge of the business’s technology solutions from a functional perspective.
- Assists internal business groups to investigate, analyse and resolve software functionality problems.
- Works directly with the software development team to ensure that functional changes are clearly understood and to clarify any doubts that may arise during the development and testing activities.
- May assist in providing end user software application support.
- Assist in providing software application training to end users.
- Prepare and update software user guides as instructed by the business or software development team.
- Participate in regional requirement reviews to ensure changes will improve existing user experience functionalities.
- Will act on behalf of the Technical Lead in their absence.
The Essentials - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in working with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Logical approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and an ability to resolve ambiguities effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure with strong organizational skills.
- Competence in handling competing stakeholder requirements with a goal to deliver outcomes according to budget and time constraints.
- An ability to think “outside the box” in a laboratory operations or customer services environment and creatively identify software based or operational solutions.
- Ability to accept and deliver criticism in a constructive manner.
- A strong customer and business focus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Experience within ALS operations or similar laboratory company.
- Experience working with Microsoft’s Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps).
- Experience working with SharePoint
- Experience working with a ISO17025 / GMP certified Quality System
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, as agreed with the business.
