The role
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouse Assistant to join our Geochemistry operations in Stafford. This role plays a key part in the smooth running of our sample processing, inventory movement, and dispatch operations.
You’ll assist with the handling of geological samples, coordinate inventory movements, operate forklifts and other machinery, and ensure materials are delivered to the right place at the right time.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a physical, fast-paced environment and enjoys keeping things organised and moving.
The day to day
Responsibilities include:
• Logging, weighing and drying incoming samples and preparing them for lab processing
• Safely transporting samples and materials between sites using forklifts and manual handling tools
• Receiving, scanning and storing inventory and supplies in appropriate locations
• Packing large items for shipment and labelling them for transit
• Conducting stocktakes and assisting with warehouse audits
• Maintaining warehouse housekeeping and reporting hazards
• Assisting with waste management and following all HSE procedures
• Matching deliveries with invoices and recording stock movements
The essentials
The successful candidate will bring:
• A current forklift licence (required) and manual driver’s licence
• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role
• Physical fitness and the ability to safely lift heavy items
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A focus on safety and a willingness to follow procedures
• Experience with inventory systems or warehouse processes (a plus)
• A Certificate in Warehouse Operations or Dangerous Goods experience (desirable)
