ALS Environmental – Christchurch is seeking an experienced Asbestos Identifier to join our dynamic and dedicated team.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying asbestos within a laboratory setting under current accreditation standards.
We're looking for a motivated self-starter with strong multitasking abilities and a keen attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in asbestos identification and either hold relevant accreditation or be working towards obtaining it.
The day to day
- Identification of chrysotile, amosite and crocidolite asbestos
- Asbestos fibre counting (cowls)
- Routine Maintenace of the asbestos laboratory
- Preparation of soil and asbestos samples
- Receipting of samples
- Demonstrate high degree of quality and competency and productivity
- Laboratory Analyst with asbestos testing
- Reporting
- Ensuring the quality of the laboratory is maintained at the level that meets or exceeds the QC targets set out in the QC manual.
- Assessing the results of QA/QC audits and implementing improvements
- Multi-task all aspects of the laboratory when required
The Essentials - Previous experience in Asbestos Identification or similar role in laboratory setting
- Associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.
- Experienced analyst with IANZ signatory status for asbestos
- Can do attitude and self-starter
- Ability to multi-task
- Laboratory experience 1-5 years
- Team Player - ability to learn all aspects of the Laboratory
