Senior Assistant Accountant – Xavier Children’s Support Network
Xavier Children's Support Network is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane and has been operating in the disability services sector in Brisbane for over 60 years. Xavier has a long and proud history of providing a range of high quality supports for children and young people with complex health and disability needs.
The Role:
The Assistant Accountant is a new role providing accounting support to the Chief Financial Officer and other finance team members including managing accounts receivable, performing reconciliations, EOM & EOY process, collecting, verifying and recording financial and accounting information.
Prepares financial documents and reports on a regular basis and works closely with operational leaders and key personnel to provide financial insights, analysis and advice that supports informed decision-making and sustainable service delivery.
Provide practical guidance on quoting, service agreements, and billing practices, including correct setup and use of financial systems.
Liaises with team members and provides support (as required) with payroll processes.
The Person:
· Qualifications in Accounting or a related field or study towards combined with relevant industry experience
· Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience gained in a senior accounting role including responsibilities as mentioned above.
· Intermediate MS Excel (minimum) and experience with ERP systems and BI tools or the ability to quickly acquire these skills
· Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
· Ability to see the "big picture" and contribute to long-term planning.
· Ability to create financial models, forecasts, and scenario modelling. (desirable)
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive business relationships with non-finance colleagues, program managers, executives and Xavier clients/families.
· The ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a changing environment.
· Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to organise and effectively manage competing priorities to agreed deadlines
AND
· Hold a current Police Check, Blue Card and NDIS WS Card or have the ability to quickly acquire appropriate clearances to work.
· Alignment with the organisation’s values and behaviours
