Our teams collaborate across parishes, schools, and communities to deliver initiatives that support faith formation, leadership, outreach, and engagement especially among youth, families, and community groups.
About the Role
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist supports the marketing and communication needs of multiple teams across Archdiocesan Ministries.
This role is responsible for producing high-quality written and multimedia content that engages Catholic communities and the broader public through digital and print platforms. The position involves content creation, social media management, communications planning, and marketing campaign support.
The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with strong writing skills and digital media expertise, capable of connecting with diverse audiences through engaging content and visual storytelling, drawing on a genuine connection to the life and mission of the Catholic Church
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Create and manage engaging content across relevant social media platforms.
- Grow the online presence and reach of Archdiocesan Ministries.
- Analyse social media insights and recommend improvements based on trends and best practice.
- Engage with the online community and identify opportunities to increase digital impact.
Electronic Digital Marketing Management - Support Archdiocesan Ministries teams with email campaigns including copywriting, design and brand alignment.
- Assist with database management to ensure contact information is accurate and campaigns are well targeted.
Communications & Content Creation - Support communications planning and scheduling across the agency.
- Produce high-quality written content for marketing campaigns, digital platforms and publications.
- Capture events, ministry activities and stories through photography and short-form video.
- Share stories that highlight the work of Archdiocesan Ministries and faith communities.
About You You are a creative and purpose-driven communications professional who enjoys telling meaningful stories and engaging communities through digital media.
You will bring: - Minimum 3 years' experience in communications, media, or content creation
- Strong copywriting and storytelling ability
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Current Blue Card and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable experience includes: - Photography or videography skills
- Website management experience (e.g., WordPress)
- Familiarity with marketing tools and analytics
- Experience with design platforms such as Canva or Adobe Suite
