Copywriter (Contract)

Our client is a global e-commerce marketplace, and we're seeking a Copywriter to support regulatory and international content initiatives.

Location: Downtown Toronto
Hybrid – 2 days/week in office

Contract: 1 year with potential for renewal

This role involves owning end-to-end content development across global regulatory initiatives. The Copywriter will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders worldwide to translate complex international regulations into clear, engaging, and accessible content. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring messaging alignment, quality, and timely delivery across regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop engaging content including emails, website content, video scripts, and internal presentations
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, audience-friendly messaging
• Collaborate closely with global stakeholders to review, refine, and approve content
• Align messaging strategies with program leads and cross-functional teams
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and deadlines
• Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency and content quality
• Support regulatory initiatives that help sellers comply with evolving international laws
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance engagement and content effectiveness

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in copywriting and content creation across multiple formats
• Exceptional English writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, PR, Business, or related field
• Familiarity with editorial standards (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style)
• Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills
• Experience collaborating across legal, product, and customer support teams
• Comfortable working across regions and time zones
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and collaboration tools
• Portfolio or writing samples required
• Nice to have: Experience analyzing performance data to derive content insights and ROI
