Finance Manager – Fund Accounting, FP&A

Our client is a rapidly growing alternative real estate investment firm focused on acquiring and operating multi-location service businesses. They are seeking a Finance Manager – Fund Accounting & FP&A to support financial operations and strategic growth initiatives.

Location: Mid-town Toronto (Yonge & St. Clair)
Work Type: Hybrid (3 days in office)

The Finance Manager will report to senior leadership and play a critical role in financial reporting, fund accounting, and financial planning & analysis. The role involves managing monthly reporting processes, preparing investor and lender reporting, strengthening internal financial controls, and supporting capital financing initiatives. The position will also collaborate with operations and development teams to improve financial performance and support strategic projects including acquisitions and market analysis.

Key responsibilities

• overseeing the finance team to ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting
• preparing monthly reporting packages and performance analyses for management and investors
• providing data-driven insights to improve operational and financial performance
• preparing quarterly and annual reporting including lender covenant testing and investor updates
• ensuring corporate tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements are completed accurately
• developing budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting at corporate and location levels
• improving internal accounting controls and financial policies
• supporting debt financing structures and capital raising initiatives
• managing cash flow and overseeing construction budgets with development teams
• supporting acquisitions, underwriting, and financial analysis projects

Requirements

• Canadian CPA designation
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
• 7+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience
• demonstrated leadership or team management experience
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
• experience reporting under ASPE considered an asset
• fund accounting experience with a background in real estate or private equity preferred
• advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting tools considered an asset
