About the team
Our national Corporate & Commercial group works with our clients across a variety of sectors, across the full spectrum of corporate and commercial transactions, including:
- M&A – private and public; domestic and cross-border;
- Private equity and venture capital;
- Equity capital markets (ECM) and fundraising;

About the role Our Sydney office is seeking a corporate lawyer with at least 3 years PAE to join our national practice with a focus on private M&A transactions.
Within a collaborative national team, you will work alongside Partners Darren Pereira and William Kontaxis on a broad mix of M&A, often involving national corporates and private equity, for a range of clients in a growing practice.
On large transactions, you will work closely with the partners, on smaller transactions, you will be comfortable playing a key role with appropriate guidance from seniors in the team, and support from junior lawyers and paralegals.
Operating as a true national practice, this role will work closely with partners in Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, presenting interesting, complex and varied work.
About you You will have at least 3 years of post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law, specialising in M&A. Ideally, you will have gained this experience from within a large practice or a specialised M&A practice.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation in this area of practice and gained exposure to a range of corporate transactions and investments, including:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Private equity
- Joint ventures
- Shareholder Agreements
- Share Sale Agreements
- Asset Sale Agreements
- Due Diligence Reports
- Corporations Act advice
You will also possess:
- Excellent drafting, critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- An aptitude for training and managing the work of the junior members of the team
- Experience in juggling multiple priorities with good client management skills and strong attention to detail
- Genuinely enjoy working within a collaborative team who support each other to deliver the best possible client outcomes
