Scitex Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded ingredients business that supports some of New Zealand’s most recognised food, beverage and nutraceutical brands.
We are looking for a junior to intermediate Applications Technologist who is genuinely passionate about food, flavour and innovation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to product development, ingredient applications, customer interaction, and market trends within a collaborative commercial environment.
You might already have some industry experience, completed an internship, or worked on development projects through your studies. Most importantly, you’ll bring curiosity, enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a real love of food.
What you will do:
- Work closely with the Innovation Manager and wider commercial team on customer projects
- Develop and trial flavour and ingredient applications across a range of food categories
- Prepare samples, formulations and application concepts for customers and suppliers
- Support customer projects from brief through to tasting and sample
submission - Help identify food trends and purchase new market products for internal tastings
- Participate in customer meetings, tastings and technical discussions
- Collaborate with account managers, product managers and fellow
technologists
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related
discipline - Strong interest in chemistry, ingredients, flavours and food formulation
- Some product development or applications experience is ideal
- A genuine foodie who enjoys cooking, dining out and following food trends
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with people
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally
