The Role
As an Operator, you’ll support the safe and efficient running of the plant, working closely with senior operators and the wider operations team to meet production, quality and safety targets.
Key Responsibilities Plant & Process Operation: - Operate, monitor and adjust plant systems in line with SOPs
- Support safe start‑ups, shut‑downs and changeovers
- Identify and report plant issues early to minimise downtime
- Maintain strong equipment care and operational reliability
Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: - Complete routine checks, inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of plant activity and maintenance
- Suggest improvements to safety, efficiency and procedures
- Support ongoing development and refinement of SOPs
Health, Safety & Environment: - Follow all PPE, permit‑to‑work and safety procedures
- Respond appropriately to spills, alarms and incidents
- Contribute to investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain clean, organised and hazard‑free work areas
About You You’ll thrive here if you’re practical, steady under pressure and enjoy working in a high‑performing team.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in plant, process, manufacturing or heavy‑industry operations
- Exposure to process operations or mechanical engineering (preferred)
- Strong understanding of safety in high‑risk environments
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence with PLC‑based systems
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn
- A calm, methodical approach when things don’t go to plan
Qualifications in Process Operations or Mechanical Engineering, or tickets such as confined space or hot‑work, are beneficial but not essential.

You’ll help keep the plant running safely and efficiently through strong PLC operation, clear communication and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving processes and supporting a positive, safety‑first culture.

Hours of Work:The facility operates 24/7, with Operators working 12‑hour shifts on a rotating
2 days, 2 nights, 4 off roster, averaging 42 hours per week. Overtime and call‑outs may be required at times to support the team.
